No.1カフェラテのお店、Courier Coffee Roasters

私の人生でNo.1のカフェラテが飲める場所、Courier Coffee Roasters。ここのラテを飲むためだけにポートランドに行きたくなるくらいお気に入り。

ダウンタウンのPowell's Booksから徒歩2分くらいの場所なので、学校行く前に本屋ふらふらしてコーヒーを飲むのが定番コース。

このアイスラテを初めて飲んだ時の衝撃が未だに忘れられません。

ここでは普通の作り方と違ってエスプレッソとミルクを混ぜた後に氷をスプーンで優しく落としてます。そうする事でエスプレッソの熱で氷が溶けるのを避けられるし、大きい氷を使用することで氷の溶ける速度も遅められるから一番美味しい状態が長続きしてると思われる。

ちなみに帰国前に豆を2bl買ってきました。日本みたく250g単位じゃなくて1bl(454g)単位なので、2つ買っただけで1kg近く！(おかげで飛行機の受託手荷物が1blオーバーして空港でスーツケース広げて豆だけ取り出すはめに。。)

焙煎したての豆が欲しかったので帰国前日に訪問したら、2,3日前に焙煎したものをGet。さっそくエスプレッソマシンでラテを淹れてみたら、なかなか本場に近いお味！！！

この独特なアロマと酸味と舌の感じる旨みのバランスがほんとに絶妙。

どうにかして定期的に個人輸入したいんだけど、何か良い方法ないでしょうか。とりあえず、今度友達が帰国するときにまた買ってきてもらおう。

They have latte that is my best latte of my life. It’s so good that I want to go to Portland.

The shop location is a two minutes’ walk from the Powell’s books Downtown.I used to go there before I went to school.

The iced latte was too good to forget.

It’s unique to make iced latte. The espresso pour in the milk and add the ice carefully by use spoon.It can be avoided and get slowly to melt ice by using big ice.I guess how it keep the best condition.

By the way,I bought two pound of whole beans.

In japan,usually we have 250g in units,but in U.S,we have one pound(454g) in units,so I bought about 1kg of whole beans!

(My checked bag was over wight,so I picked my whole beans up my bag in airport...)

I want to get freshly roasted coffee beans,so I went to go there the day before I go back Japan, I got the new one that roasted couple days ago.After I return to Japan,I made to iced latte by use espresso machine.It tastes similar to that I drank the iced latte in Portland.It’s amazing that the beans have aroma,flavor and sour taste.

Please tell me how to get this whole beans regularly in private import.Anyway,I ask my friend to buy it for me when she come to Japan.
